Kaylene and her Guide Dog Kara.

Over 70 years of changing lives in WA.

Did you know Guide Dogs WA is the original home of Guide Dogs in Australia? Dr. Arnold Cook, a visionary Western Australian who happened to be blind, established Australia’s first Guide Dog organisation in Perth in 1951. Since then, under the guidance of our board, founded by the late Stan Perron AM, The Guide Dog Foundation has distributed annual gifts to support the sustainability of Guide Dogs WA and transform thousands of lives.

Our Board

Guide Dogs WA has benefited from the support of Western Australian community leaders who have made a strong commitment to this cause. Among these was the late Stan Perron AM, who gave generously over the years.

In Memory

We recognise the late Stan Perron AM for his commitment and generosity to The Guide Dog Foundation and Guide Dogs WA.

Giving is an important part of a strong collaborative community.

Supporting those members of our community who benefit from acts of generous philanthropy is something we value highly.

By specifically supporting The Guide Dog Foundation, all gifts will contribute to the long term financial sustainability of an organisation that will provide for the needs of those who are in need, now and into the future.

The Guide Dog Foundation will work exclusively with Guide Dogs WA to achieve its objectives. Day-to-day fundraising will remain extremely important while the Foundation seeks to build itself into a primary source of ongoing funding.
